Photos
In general, I like taking photos of water in all its different forms, but sometimes, other things catch my eye... Here are a set of my favourite photos.
Frozen sun
Shards of ice lying on the snow caught my attention
on my way home. I used these natural lenses to capture the journey of the sun towards
this frozen horizon and setting into the ice, with a last bloom through a
window created by the final warm rays of the day before leaving a dusky blend
from blue to black, contrasted with the scattered glimmers of the remaining light.
Droplets
I love how each droplet reflects the whole scene.
I like to think of them as representing lives of people around me: some start to join
together. As they reach the water, they merge into tent-like structures,
perhaps forming a household?
Mountain Iron
Scraps of metal abandoned in the mountain light up and
dance against the blue sky. It is sad when rubbish is left to rust in such a natural
setting, so I use them to create art.
Curtain of Water
From behind a small waterfall, we look out through
curtains of water: the continuous flow of water frozen in time, almost looking like ice
but the form of the individual droplets, ribbons and sheets reminding us of the
movement.
Flight of the Lion
The buoy
I found this dandelion with a cupped form and placed it to
embrace the sun: it is as if the sun is attracting the seeds and the rest are about
to fly up to it in their turn.
The Buoy is stranded by the low tide and collapsed on its
side, the chain covered by seaweed, reminiscent of a ship wreck, but we know that this
little yellow sun will rise again when the tide comes in….
Beyond the Horizon
I love the perspective in this photograph. I chose a
composition with one-third sky so that the movement of the eyes from the bottom
of the image, is channeled through the rocks and water in the foreground up to the
island on the horizon and to the infinite beyond.
This is not black and white
I like the confusion in this picture: What is it? Which way
round does it go?
